This section will have tutorials, guides and what not some time in the future, but for now as it needs some input and Halloween approaches (edit: or has now gone!), here is our little guide to make a Jack-o'-lantern: -

Step 1. Materials

Find yourself a suitable sized pumpkin, spoon and knife. Sketch out your design first, then draw it onto your pumpkin.

 

Step 2. Cutting the top and scooping the inside out

Cut off the top, making sure you angle your knife at 45 degrees into the pumpkin, as this allows the top to go back on once u have finished. Always take the neccessary steps when using sharp blades, cutting away from yourself, etc, if you don't know what these steps are i suggest to stop here ;-) You need to scoop out the insides with a spoon and get rid of all those seeds.

 

Step 3. Clean your Pumpkin

At this stage its best to wash out the inside of the pumpkin to prepare for carving.

 

Step 4. Carve the Face

Carving the face is similiar to cutting the top, I find it best to angle the blade to create more dramatic features.

 

Step 5. Candles and Halloween!

All you need now is candles!
